BARRETT HF/SSB

The Barrett 4050 HF SDR transceiver combines Software-Defined Radio technology with the intuitive “ease of use” that has become synonymous with the Barrett name. When teamed with other Barrett HF products, the versatile Barrett 4050 transceiver provides secure email, data transfer and telephone connectivity within a HF network and outwards to international telephone and internet networks.

The Barrett 4050 transceiver can be controlled from all major mobile and desktop platforms. The Barrett 4050 remote control app supports iOS, Android and Windows devices for wireless voice and radio control.

The Barrett 4050 Transporter (P/N: BC405051) combines the Barrett 4050 HF radio package into an easily transportable rugged Pelican case allowing the system to be field operational in minutes. There is no longer a need for time consuming unpacking, connecting and organizing that can be impractical in
emergency situations. Instead, simply attach the appropriate antenna and power source and the Barrett 4050 Transporter is transmission ready. The system is designed to be powered by 12/24VDC or 110-220VAC.

The Barrett PRC-4090 HF SDR Transceiver is the centerpiece of the Barrett range of tactical HF communications equipment. It combines Software-Defined Radio technology with the intuitive “ease of use” that has become synonymous with the Barrett name. When teamed with other Barrett HF products, the versatile Barrett PRC-4090 transceiver provides secure email, data transfer and telephone connectivity within a HF network and outwards to international telephone and internet networks.

The Barrett PRC-4090 transceiver can be controlled from all major mobile and desktop platforms including iOS, Android and Windows devices for wireless voice and radio control via the 4000 series HF remote control app.

The Barrett 4050 Control Handset is a further enhancement to the versatility of the Barrett 4050 HF SDR Transceiver. It combines smartphone-style ease-of-use with the touchscreen intuitiveness that users of the Barrett 4050 HF SDR Transceiver are
familiar with. The streamlined design – including a built-in microphone and loudspeaker – makes the 4050 Control Handset the perfect substitution for the Barrett 4050’s control head in mobile installations. Its unobtrusive size easily mounts to a vehicle dashboard or vessel helm. A quick release attachment makes removing the handset a simple and uncomplicated one-hand operation.

The 4050 HF SDR transceiver desk console controls a connected 4050 HF SDR either via direct connection as a primary or secondary control head or via IP network (Ethernet or WiFi). It has a built in speaker, detachable boom microphone and supports standard headsets and PTT (push to talk) foot switches.

The 4075 500 watt linear power amplifier has a unique advanced liquid cooled solid state design which is believed to be the first of its kind. This reduces the requirement for forced air cooling, resulting in lower power consumption and a quieter working environment. Where an amplifier has a less than optimum efficient cooling system it can lead to component failure, but this innovative design, which uses a water propylene glycol mixture, allows the transmitter to run continuously at optimum temperatures and therefore more efficiently, resulting in greater reliability and extended service life.

The Barrett 4075 1000 watt amplifier natively supports the Barrett 4050 Transceiver/Exciter which when coupled requires no further tuning or adjustment. A flexible I/O interface and analogue ALC feedback provide the transceiver/exciter full control over final output power. Intelligent electronic controls protect the 4075 from input and output overload while providing a sophisticated early warning and a diagnostic interface for system monitoring and event logging. Customisable auxiliary ports are also available for enhanced system control.

The mailbox acts as an Internet Gateway and provides a seamless portal to and from the Internet and radio network.

The HF Radio Mailbox provides direct and end to end mail synchronization over HF . No external computers or controllers are required over the LAN or WiFi connection.

Remote Control and Configuration Management affords network managers the ability to add/drop stations using (over the air OTAR re-programming) without having to configure individual stations.
